The Weekly OT #39: The Comeback
I don’t usually give titles to the Weekly OT until the content of the discussion has evidenced a central theme, and even then, it is just to facilitate quick reference in the future. In this case, however, the timing and the need to give credit where it is due, is overwhelming.
In the 2016 season of sports we saw the Chicago Cubs comeback from a 3-1 game deficit in their Championship and World Series games. Previous to that, in basketball, both the Warriors and the Cavaliers came back from 3-1 deficits to take their Conference and Finals’ series respectively. Last weekend, continuing the trend (and this is only mentioning the sports of which I am familiar), the cheating-est team, The New England Patriots, made a comeback of such epic proportions (down 3-28 late in the 3rd) it actually served to ease the pain of the Seahawks loss a couple of years back.
So, it is common knowledge that when we are down in a match, shouting out “Remember Herandar!” “For Herandar!” or when there is no time, just “Herandar!” rallies the troops. It is the against-all-odds victory cry. It took a nudge from rED, however, to remember that there is a reason we cry that name out.
You called it Herandar. You did it! You put it on film, called it, and since then, dominoes.
Rallying cry, “Herandar!” is thy name.
