The Weekly OT #37
The free games for February were just announced, and Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is one of them. Unfortunately, the up-to-4 player coop is local only, so we won’t be able to play it together. However, it looks to be a fantastic couch party game requiring true co-operation between players. The soundtrack is fantastic (think BitTripRunner). One of the other free titles is Monkey Island 2:Special Edition (360) but I know before I try, it isn’t my kind of game.
And for those who love the smell of napalm in the morning, there is this Kickstarter.
On the Silver Screen is Lowriders, think Boyz in the Hood for the Spanish speaking Americans.
Ghost Recon Wildlands, “The only way to stop death, is with a ghost“. I say, “The only way to stop regret, is to withhold one’s money.” You can register for the closed beta here. Unless you live in Japan in which case, “Sorry, registrations are not opened in your country”. Fine! I didn’t want to play your stupid game anyway. Seriously, I didn’t. They cured me with The Division.
Frontier on Netflix. Did anyone watch A Series of Unfortunate Events? I tried to watch the first episode but found it so depressing, I switched to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, for lighter viewing. At least there, Lizbet gets some revenge and has some happy moments.
Finally, there is Subnautica in Game Preview. I cannot believe how much I am struggling to just say no on this one. (EDIT: With further research, it would appear that framerate is really bad right now. Unknown Worlds, the developer, is working hard to optimize the game, but they are not there yet.)
And speaking of the sea, Rare is promising new, expanding content every month for the Alpha testers of Sea of Thieves. I have it all queued up to the good part for what will become available for the next test. The first couple of minutes (from the queue) is MUST LISTEN.
