2016 NBA Finals Game 1

May 31, 2016

First off, anyone is welcome to post here, so if you are tired of the basketball, grab a keyboard and tell us what else we should be interested in. In the meantime, here are the highlight reels from the 2 regular season match-ups between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Finals start on Thursday night (or Friday morning if you live on the other side of the International Date Line).  It’s High Noon!

For the Rocket Leaguers. This one has a sweet save, too.

Finally hit level 30 in the Division. And then the following night, I finally finished the last main story mission. I’m only 16 or so days behind someone in total playtime. And there is still an entire section of the city that I haven’t yet set foot in,

“only 16 days behind someone” LMAO!

You will never catch him. He is The Blankman, and he plays for keeps. 😉

And back on topic, there has been much talk about the Cavs and their threes (in the media and here). For the record, I hope it is a shootout. I would love it if the Cavs want to play quick draw. (That is why I linked to High Noon).

And Frenik, be sure to jump into Overwatch as soon as it becomes cheap, if not sooner. It is a fully operational battle station.

Played a bunch last night with Cornie, Johann (good to game with him again!) and former VoodooWitchDoctor who is know Echo (cant remember the first part of his GT). This game is so much fun playing in a full squad that I cant really recommend it enough to people on this site who haven’t given it a shot yet. If everyone knows who to play for Attack/Defend on each map, you can steamroll through teams easily. We were unstoppable last night on the map Hollywood. I don’t think we lost 1 game on either side last night. Hopefully we can game some more soon, guys!

Good stuff, RoBBins! I got home to the tail end of that party. Got to play a couple of hours with Joey/Vudu/Echo, Pixxy (a friend of his) and Johann and Cornie. I just missed you, literally took your place, apparently. We didn’t win everything, but we did well. And we did some wacky stuff, too, like all go as Torbjorn – crazy thing was, we won a lot of those.

OH! And I had fun with Junkrat. Saved video too (or it didn’t happen). Will edit and YouTube asap.

Yeah a team of 6 Torbjorn’s can defend like no other. I happened to join a group of 5 as a solo, and they were all playing him in the pre-game lobby. I decided to join them, and we dominated before they could even get the escort to the first checkpoint. It’s pretty insane having 6 Torb’s pop their Ult, and all of a sudden the enemies are dealing with 6 level 3 turrets shooting rockets at them LOL.

Also, defending on Temple of Anubis with 2 Junkrats is EZ mode. Johann and I were trapping and mining people all over the place!

Xbox One price drop before E3. Could be that Kenny will find one of the new models under his seat at the keynote. That would be nice, wouldn’t it!

Double OT: First Nvidia drops a budget card more powerful than their previous ultra pricey “titan” for $399, as well as a flagship card that is the new top dog by a good margin for $599.

Now, AMD responds with a $199 GPU (RX480), that is the lowest priced card on the market that can handle Oculus and Vive. This was a really smart decision, because manufactures of PCs are totally going to use this card as the most cost effective route to make their PC “VR Ready”.

I was discussing with Blank, and I think it is very likely this is the GPU architecture we will see in the Xbox “Scorpio” (likely modified). The amount of performance in this ultra-budget card is absolutely insane (beating cards that launched at $999 1-2 years ago). One of the biggest leaps between GPU chips I have ever seen.

Also interesting: AMD has apparently improved the “parallel” performance of running a dual GPU setup. Running two RX480’s, they were able to beat out Nvidia’s new top dog. For $499, you end up with an incomprehensible amount of performance.

I don’t think anyone really wants to talk about the NBA finals except you, Suns. 😜 I’d like to see the western conference come out on top, but that’s pretty much all I have to say now that OKC self-destructed.

LOL@just me wanting to talk about it!

60 minutes to game time, and nothing on my plate today. No classes and I got here real early to finish lesson planning a month in advance. Been looking forward to this since Monday.

I promise not to live blog the pre-game show. 😜 ❤

Well, that was probably the most solid, consistent game the Warriors have played this Playoff season. Strength in numbers, indeed.

Cavs need to learn how to shoot 3’s when they’re down by 12+ points. Not only did they not attempt any 3’s, but every layup they threw up to the net NEVER went in. GS played way too consistent to how poorly Cleveland played all game as well. I wanted this series to go all 7 games, but after that performance from LeBron and Co., I don’t really see it happening.

Draymond went from my favorite warrior to this-guy-shouldn’t-be-playing-professional-sports.
