Thunder @ Warriors Game 5

Heart over Analysis

It hasn’t happened yet, but it starts in 45 minutes. Again, I might not have the heart to do this after the game, so I am putting it up here before. Highlights, or lowlights, depending on which team you root for, will be embedded after the game. Enjoy the show! And if it doesn’t go the way you wanted, there is always The Division, Ark:SE, Rocket League, and my personal new favorite, Overwatch. ❤

(EDIT: The above screenshot off TNT says it all.  Time for the Warriors to put some heart into it.)

      GO SPORTSBALL!

    • May 26, 2016 11:03 pm

Well, I might say, “Go Rocket League”, but then I would just be staring at a screen that said “Searching….”

😦 Heart would be broke if it weren’t for Overwatch.

Just talked to the gang, no issues with them joining games since the update! Retry if you haven’t.

EDIT: got into a game right away!

Will tell Cornie! Great news! WOOT!

Live blogging. Had the Warriors followed Chris Webber’s advice about heart over analysis, the entire series might have looked more like the first three minutes of this game (a close competition).

Q1 7:36 Bogut, he is the guy who has been playing with an injury, and he is looking good tonight. They probably have him on some NFL horse healing-type steroids or something.

2:31 OKC is causing turnovers and scrambling and diving for the loose balls. Warriors aren’t even bending their knees in effort. They aren’t going to win that way.

I’m way behind in the watching (Q2 5:23) and just about the time I think Curry is completely invisible, he hits a contested three and then blows by triple coverage to lay it up in front of the remaining two Thunder. Their whole frickin’ team. Where has THAT Curry been?! An enigma.

And Bogut continues to play probably the best (most consistently) on their team.

And Green just keeps throwin’ rocks. Wasting their possessions with missed 3s. Dude, obviously you are off your game. Don’t shoot it anymore until the regular season next year. Sheesh! Someone tell him to stop!

Half time. Curry – 11pts. Bogut – 10pts. LMAO! My instincts were right on this. When Bogut got injured, it was a serious blow to the team. I had no idea that the rest of the team would just melt down, though. Anyway, this is no blowout for either team. If the Warriors can win it, they are going to have a heck of a time winning game 6 in Oklahoma.

*one thing that shouldn’t be ignored, however, is that Curry is being covered by Durant, and that takes Durant away from guarding other players.

    Green gets technical.

    Thunder goes 9-2. Hmmm…..

Are Warriors playing zone defense? I thought that was “illegal” in the NBA.

Q3 6:35 tie game. 65:65 – Three classes back to back.

I’ve been cracking up, because the live blogging just suddenly ends. I think Suns spontaneously combusted from the intensity of the game! LOL

Happy Friday! Stomach is better and should have game time tonight and through the holiday weekend (MONDAY OFF!)

Ha ha! No, I had the morning open with just one meeting but wasn’t able to watch the game because I still had lots of things to do. Then, when the afternoon hit, it was classes until I left school. When I arrived home, I showered, picked up a spoon (for eating) and the controller for gaming, and with the exception of a leak or two, didn’t get out of my chair until after 11pm. I was delivering the Payload with 2GN. (I still haven’t finished the game.)

By the way, after we delivered many payloads and captured many control points, we started chasing balls with cars. It worked. So, whatever Cornie’s problem was those first few days, it seems to be sorted out (or at least it is when we play together).

Games! Doing some marking at home in the morning (already finished my walk). Clearing the calendar. Wish I had a long weekend, too! Grats! See you soon!

And thanks for the OT rumors below!

Red and I took on the PC vets… lets just say the huge amount of time they have invested in the game shows LOL! I am still eager to try once the 3 stooges/amigos can get together at some point.

We switched between “opted-in” and “opted-out” for the crossplay, and matchmaking worked fast and solid under both conditions. We also never ran across “some players do not allow crossplay” or anything of that nature.

Ironically, we did have a few “early quitters”, but only when forcing console only.

    • May 27, 2016 6:06 pm

We did get “errors” on several occasions, but we also had the joy of playing on Japanese servers. We lost almost all of our matches because I was so rusty, but almost every game we played, we went down early (like 0-4) and then pushed it into overtime or at least lost by a single goal. They were PC gamers, too. Could tell by the names (with illegal symbols etc.). Also, almost no numbers like you see in Xbox Live GTs because on PC, you can call yourself whatever you want.

I assumed that anyone without a gamerpic was a PC player. It shows a green guitar pick with the Rocket League logo. Thankfully the skill-based matchmaking put me with lesser PC players.

    OT: Some actual legit rumors.

    1) Xbox One Slim coming this year, much smaller.
    2) Xbox One (scorpio) coming 2017 (possibly aligned with new Nintendo console). Will be 4x faster than current XB1 and 50% faster than the rumored specs for the PS4.5.
    3) Xbox One Scorpio will support VR, likely Oculus.

    New info today regarding #3:

    http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/05/27/developer-says-it-is-making-a-vr-xbox-one-game?abthid=57486df8e9f9e2df4000000e

The assumption is that people who own a Xbox One (launch version) will still get and have full compatibility with the upgraded XB1.

Regardless, this e3 will be a doozy, I can see why Nintendo pulled their new console reveal out of e3.

At this point, any Steam partnership is seeming even more unlikely than it already was, but we can have hope! LOL.

An Xbox console that is 4x faster than XB1 would put it in the same league as a really nice PC, so price is the big question.

Back to watching the games. The game is definitely different than the Jordan era with the allowance of all the reach in. The number of turnovers is absolutely ridiculous but most of them are not because of poor offense, but incredibly persistent defense.

Iggy is finally playing better again. Dang, I missed him.

Anyway, I will finish the game and wait until the next one.
