    1) looks so good.
    2) “goalie” saves are going to be epic.
    3) Everyone gets 1 free team flag (your fav NBA team). Premium comes with all teams (1.99$). Very cool choice to allow people to choose a single team flag for free (most people only want one team flag).

      For sure!

      Thanks for the details.

I may have to finally cave and buy this. Looks like a ton of fun. Basketball is always a good time!

Best game going right now for me (I don’t have the division), can it ever make you yell and scream.

    • April 21, 2016 4:54 pm

It is dirt cheap, polished and fun with no ceiling for skill development.

Yup jump in jump out. It finds matches so fast and they’re so quick it’s really really well done

Haven’t been on much but for those on let’s rock some RL ASAP.

We had some absolutely epic games tonight. One of them was 0-0 taking us into overtime that must have lasted well over 10 minutes. I ended it by scoring a very subtle goal…on our net! Zos, rED, and Cornie laughed so hard their faces hurt. I was so glad they were laughing. It was heart-breaking for me. Mortifying, is the word I am looking for, I think. Talk about all the marbles and failing in a very grandiose style. rED said it reminded him of dying by walking into the poison (on Garden in Gears). It was surely up there with the biggest of my foibles. I am greatly loved to still be on their friends lists.

I will say this, I think putting me in the mix made for some really good “true skill” matchmaking, because every game was very close and many went into over time.

Oh, and I learned my role! GOON! As soon as I stopped playing and started “enforcing” in their goal crease and making a general nuisance of myself on the field, the other team started losing.

P.S. If you haven’t already, you must watch the “Honest Trailer” embedded above. Quite funny!

    • April 23, 2016 2:02 pm

The “honest trailer” was great lol.

Every time we play Rocket League there is a new experience and fun to be had. Even losing in those close games was a lot of fun! Seriously one of my favorite games ever.

Added a page with links to the best support sites for quick reference, and he is something to strive for. I kinda got hooked. Woke up this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep because I kept wondering if there was a Hoops launch video.

    • April 25, 2016 7:09 pm

PSA: The most fan-centric devs are releasing the hoops update early… NOW! Imma check later tonight once I am done with work.

    • April 25, 2016 7:51 pm

What time are you jumping on? I may have to leave work early (only one class this morning). Take flex time. (LMAO!)

P.S. I played again last night and Cornie said I upped my game by about 4 times. I got a Hat Trick and a couple of great saves. Practicing a bunch of fundamental things that aren’t flashy but that increase ball touches and decrease tragic mistakes. I want to get better. We work hard for our monkey!

    • April 25, 2016 9:32 pm

I’m going to try to be on around 8:00-8:30pm PST. In addition to the new mode/map, there are an additional 3 matchmaking maps, as well as a new map with multi goals for private games only.

There are also some balancing tweaks (small) and some changes to the ranking system (how it displays). One of the bigger features is the ability to only view “button press comments” in online games. So any manually entered text is not seen.

I think I am going to turn that one on for the sake of saving rage. The game is already incredibly intense lol.

    • April 25, 2016 11:03 pm

Thanks for the info. It sounds fantastic!

I don’t think I can make it before you go to bed (didn’t realize you would be able to make it on so early). In fact, I caught a cold this weekend and it is really winding up! I am feeling pretty rugged. I may still take off early, but it will be to go lie down and eat chicken soup. 😦 Shoot!

      Impressions:

      — They released a whole bunch of unlockables again. Already unlocked witcher 3, worms and other car bling.
      — Hoops mode is 2v2 only, at least in public matches.
      — Hoops is super epic and fun, I had a half court buzzer beater in my first game! LOL
      — The 3 new public maps are drastically different and change the entire way the game plays. Essentially, the design plays on the strengths of the game and removes the “soccer” field restraints.
      — I haven’t played the 4th private only map.
      — The 3 new maps all have “tron” like design that is very cool. Apparently they may add unique textures and level design down the road.

Hoops will have to be a private mode for the group (unless there are two of us), but that is OK. It is quite quick/fun. I anticipate these 3 new public maps are going to be really fun as well.

OT: On a basketball note, the Clippers are done. CP3 fractured his hand in the Trailblazers game tonight. They may manage to get past Portland, but they can say goodbye to their chance for advancing further. And here I thought that the Clippers had an opening with Curry’s sprained MCL (out for two weeks). Damn it!

    • April 26, 2016 1:37 am

Yep, it was funny because this morning they were saying in espn that the clippers were the ones who where getting “lucky” this year in response to what Doc had said last year (that the warriors got lucky), and the luck didn’t even last a day.

But Curry is not two weeks, it’s re-examined in two weeks, so it could be longer than that, especially since he has to go through them testing his knee in practice, etc. Like it showed the other day, his rust as a shooter is going to show with so much inaction, even if he comes back 100% there’s no guarantee he will be in sync as he was before.

Paul is sad though because I’m pretty sure he is done for good. He had shut down Lillard in the first games, so now without him we might actually win the series. I’m not sure if I can find tickets for that if it happens, but man if it’s Warriors vs. Blazers, I have to be there.

Anyways, still the moment of the night for me was Kevin Durant calling Mark Cuban an idiot for saying that Russell Westbrook was not a superstar, lol. He is almost a shoe in to be 2nd in MVP voting, or might even get it, lol.

    • April 26, 2016 5:03 am

      Injury is just heart-breaking.

As much as Curry does, I think CP3 is more important to the Clippers than Curry is to the Warriors (or at least should be). That statement is not meant to diminish either player’s contributions.

EDIT: My two favorite teams both took a huge hit in the past two days. 😦

I came across some interesting reads this past week:

The Ewing Theory (Neither Chris Paul nor Stephan Curry meet the conditions for the Ewing Theory – it is just a funny theory.)
      and
      http://www.wsj.com/articles/the-golden-state-warriors-have-revolutionized-basketball-1459956975?utm_source=nextdraft&utm_medium=email

EDIT 2 – OP – Impressions of the new Maps:

I have too much respect for the car-ball handling gameplay and the map with the ledges and the powerups on the wall behind the goals feels gimmicky. Having played it a bit, I feel like it takes away the focus on sheer car/ball skill. The other two are a lot of fun and the map provides different opportunities rather than obstruction. Haven’t tried the circle map yet. The variety is fun, regardless.

    • April 26, 2016 5:50 pm

I think the map with the wall behind the goals will get better once we learn its tricks. But I think of all the maps, it requires the most in terms of ball handling and aerials. The angle of the wall makes the ball roll away from the goal instead of dropping straight down. It’s just going to take a lot of time to adapt to that style. Each of the maps is drastically different, the “donut” map Cornie and I played against bots was actually pretty fun.

    • April 26, 2016 5:57 pm

Well, I will definitely play it every time it comes into the list. Until the community masters flight, wacky is an advantage to the unskilled. πŸ˜‰ Cornie met with a baller yesterday. Got whipped 13-4 first game. Kept playing the guy until he had to leave. Recorded the games for study. I wanna up my game, too! There will be things I may never get good at, but I can definitely learn and master a whole lot more than I am currently doing. SO FUN!

And I am down and out with the cold, but heading out the door to teach ALL DAY. I am grateful to have work! God is good.

Blake is out, too?!! What the heck?!!

    http://www.latimes.com/sports/clippers/la-sp-cn-chris-paul-probably-out-four-weeks-20160426-story.html

Dang, that is a tall order for the rest of the team, even to just get past Portland now.

And now Mark Cuban, after calling out Westbrook (who learned how to play his position), is laying into D. Green. What a imbecile hater.

    • April 27, 2016 6:14 am

He keeps mentioning Dirk as if he is the one to set the bar of a Superstar. The year that Dirk won the MVP 06′-07′ they got upset by the Warriors on the first round. They had won 67-15 that year. It is their best record, and yet couldn’t get past the first round. In fact they couldn’t cut it for a lot of those “50win = Superstar” seasons. It wasn’t until Jason Kidd and a lot of other role players joined that they were able to win the championship, and then the idiot broke up that team for no reason at all without ever giving them a chance to defend the title.

Good thing Dirk is that good because they haven’t been to the finals every since, and probably never will.

As far as the Ewing theory, I love it. Not sure what other examples come to mind, although Portland should be somewhat there. They lost Lamarcus Alridge who was their All-star, along with 3 other starters, and they might because of the injuries get out of the first round of the playoffs. Last year they lost, but then again the did lose Wesley to an injury.

Another one that I think it may fit, is the Heat in 2000. Alonzo Mourning got injured, and they didn’t do exactly better, but about just broke even in terms of win loss record.

    • April 27, 2016 9:23 pm

I was thinking about Mr. Cuban’s remarks this morning. For true ballers, it will fuel their furnaces, so, “Thank you!”. LOL!

Glad you like the Ewing theory. I love patterns in the chaos.

  9. April 27, 2016 11:04 pm

I am dual screening the Clippers and Warriors games. Clippers aren’t going to give this round to the Trailblazers without a fight. Ballmer is going out of his mind every time the Clippers duck. They really need a Ballmer cam, and they need to picture in picture it! Bwahahahaha! Jordan is getting some of his free throws, too. Nice. Make the hack a Jordan not quite as appealing.

And the Warriors are just handling the Rockets. Shuttin’ them down.

EDIT: Game over. Clippers lost. 😦 Congrats, Frenik. I was hoping the Clippers were going to keep the pressure on, but they couldn’t. Some flashy plays in that game. Portland is going to have to capitalize on this chance, or they will be back in Staples for a 7th.
