The Division- Incursions (Raid)

April 1, 2016

The Division has dubbed their “raids strikes” as Incursions. The first one is due on April 12th. Yes, that’s the exact same day that Dark Souls 3 releases in North America and Destiny gets another content drop.

JokerUnique, mod for the TD subbreddit, painstakingly created a bulleted list of all that we’ll expect on April 12th from the Twitch stream that took place this Wednesday. I reformatted & edited some of it to make it easier to consume.

  • ‘Falcon Lost’ will be the first Incursion.
  • It takes place in a Water Treatment Plant and is a LMB Stronghold, because that is not really something that you bomb, when you want to take back New York
  • Captain Perez reassembles the LMB to keep control and now it is our job to stop the rest of the LMB.
  • The LMB will be able to operate an armored vehicle/tank.
  • Multiple voice-overs and discussions will be different each time.

Tactics:

  • You won’t be able to camp in Falcon Lost.
  • There will be new enemies: Drones – they will flush you out of cover and will need to be shot down (seen in E3 2015 gameplay trailer).
  • You really need a good group and tactics. This will be very difficult with PUGs.
  • It is not only about gear, but also a lot about player skills.
  • You need synergy between play styles.

Matchmaker:

  • Matchmaker is confirmed for Incursions. There is a Gear-Score recommendation for Hard-mode (150) and for Challenge Mode.
  • You won’t be matched with players that are below a specific score.

Checkpoints:

  • No checkpoints in Incursions; when your entire team is dead, you’ll have to start over.
  • No weekly lockout for Incursions.  You can play them as many times as you want.
  • The first time you beat it in the week, you will get a “very good” reward. After that the loot will be “good” rewards.

Future Incursions:

  • More Incursions are planned (Columbus Circle is already confirmed for the Conflict update in May).
  • Future incursions will have different mechanics.

Rewards:

  • Best/new gear and weapons than everywhere in the game (also newly named weapons).

Difficulty:

  • The difficulty of the Incursions is very high because it needs group coordination, tactics, and also good gear to beat the Incursion.
  • Incursions have two difficulties: Hard & Challenging.
  • Hard Mode will require the equivalent of the current level 31 high-end gear
  • Challenge Mode will require the new gear-sets.
  • The devs could beat the hard mode, so they made it more difficult. The QC players needed several days to beat the Challenge Mode of Incursions.

Trading:

  • Player can drop items and give it to the other players in the group that were present when the item(s) were initially dropped.

Restrictions:

  • You have to go to a DZ Checkpoint to trade the item (safe area).
  • Dropped loot can be picked up by all players in the group.
  • Items can be dropped and traded multiple times in 2-hour window after pickup.

New Feature: Assignments

  • There will be weekly and daily assignments.
  • You can earn Phoenix Credits and Division Tech.
  • Good rewards in general (Ex: killing 10 Cleaners)
  • New Dark Zone Activities

Supply Drops:

  • Drop from the sky that happens every hour on different locations and have very good rewards.
  • Only the first group that gets there will get the reward.
  • Supply Drops are protected by hard enemies.
  • When you get the supply drop, you don’t have to extract them.
  • In general, they will add new activities in every future update.

Spectator-Cam:

  • When you die during a group-mission, you can switch your camera view on other teammates’ perspectives.
  • You can switch between your teammates, look around, and help them until you are revived.

Gear-Sets:

  • There are 4 gear sets.
  • Finding and equipping four pieces from a single set unlocks a new, never-before-seen talent for your Agent, which the developers aren’t revealing yet.
  • You will also get a set bonus when you have a specific number of set-pieces equipped.
  • Gear sets will have other talents than what we already have.
  • Different gearsets per play style.
  • They are more powerful than High-Ends gear pieces, but you have to equip a multiple number of items to get the buff.
  • Gear sets don’t have gear talents.
  • However, they help a lot in the group synergy when players of the group have different sets: Sentry’s Call (Sniper set); Striker’s Battle Gear (Combat Assault set); Path of the Nomad (Dark Zone / Solo-oriented set (very vague); Technician’s Authority (Support and Tech set)
  • You can get Gear Sets from: Incursions/ Blueprints that can be bought/ Drop in Challenge Mode Missions/ Dark Zone.

Gear Score:

  • After you reach level 30, you are measured by gear score. You won’t see player level any longer, instead the gear score will be displayed.
  • The gear score is calculated by the gear that you are wearing, and it is based on the quality and item-level.
  • Gear score is also included in matchmaking. Matchmaking will also include the items you have in the inventory.
  • Phoenix Credits changes will be included:
Level 30 enemies drop 1-3 Credits
Level 31 enemies drop 2-4 Credits
Level 32 enemies drop 3-5 Credits

Blueprints

  • New Level 31 / 32 Blueprints

Crafting

  • Older Blueprints will not require Division
  • Tech anymore
  • The New ones will need Division Tech

Dark Zone changes

  • Items can be bought with these Dark Zone
  • Ranks (15 / 25 / 40 / 75 / 90) more granular DZ

Ranks

  • New Dark Zone Brackets (below 160 / above 160)
  • 160 = almost full high end gear equipped.

Player Level Cap:

  • Agent level is still capped at 30, but your gear score can boost your abilities beyond your level, and are touted as a new way of leveling up for top-level players.

Sounds like the old Nightfall Strike, not a raid. If it were a raid without checkpoints it would be either not difficult enough or nearly impossible without cheese.

Anyways whenever they do get a real raid it would be interesting.

BTW, Destiny DLC will be free to Taken King’s owners.

Thanks for the info, Blank. Looks good. Cornie has been having a blast with it, and I have been enjoying the stories.

Got home last night, ready to jump on and play through supper. Servers down for maintenance. Played RL, Gears (went out on a high note), and PvZ instead. This is at least the 4th time maintenance has stymied plans. Can’t level up if you can’t play! Good news, I guess, is that I was genuinely disappointed, even after spending my evening on the other great games.

For any of you that care about the 1.1 patch, I’ve updated the thread with the latest Incursions trailer. A lot of changes that will improve the game & keep people playing TD. With so many updates, DLC, & games releasing tomorrow (April 12), it truly is an embarrassment of riches. Also, the Gears 4 MP beta is next week! Sheesh.
