Netflix Love

February 13, 2016

It may or may not be good, but from Judd Apatow, of Freaks and Geeks and The 40-Year-Old Virgin fame, I am at least going to be giving this one a try (Feb 19).  And before and after that, we should be getting new  Better Call Saul (Feb 15) and Daredevil (Mar 18).  EDIT: Interview with Vince Gilligan.

OT: I took about ten minutes looking for where we expressed our concerns that Rainbow Six: Siege would be a niche title and fail. Then I realized it was probably posted on another topic. Anyway…

I noticed that per the very much not detailed, but definitely accurate Games Storefront, RS:S is being played more than Halo 5. The list in order: COD:BlOps III, FIFA 16, GTA V, NBA 2K16, Minecraft, Madden 16, Fallout 4, Destiny, SW:B, Ark, RS:S, Halo 5.

I think Siege must be considered a success for UbiSoft.

I’m really looking forward to the return of Better Call Saul, The Walking Dead, & Daredevil. Could we be in for watching more TV programming than The Division, Rocket League, or Ark? Sheesh, talk about being torn on entertainment!

BTW: For those of you guys that haven’t gotten a chance to catch Deadpool at your local theater, you guys are in for a treat. I’m glad that Ryan Reynolds insisted on keeping the R-rating because the potty humor, violence, and story is very well done. I seldom pay full price on newly released movies favoring matinee shows over evening ones ($6.50 vs. $13.50), but Deadpool was worth the higher price.

The adoption of RS:S is a surprise to me. It was so broken and lacking in content that I didn’t think people would be buying it. However, in among those comments where we talked about it being niche, we also talked about it being crazy fun. I look forward to a summer sale of it, though even then, I might not get it because of the server/region type stuff. Halo 5 at the bottom is both surprising and “yeah, that’s about right”. What surprises me most is the GTA games.

Yes, the TV thing is going to be a challenge. BCS will almost certainly NOT disappoint, so once I start that, I will be watching as fast as my schedule will allow. Daredevil will have to work to keep up the quality, so that will be episode by episode.

But when will Netflix bring the new Danger Mouse series to the States?

So, I watched the whole first season. Cringe comedy. The two main characters may be sufficiently irritating as to make the show unwatchable for some/many(?). I don’t recommend the show, but I can say that Episode 5 was absolutely hilarious and works stand alone – if you are in need of some laughs without a 10 hour commitment.

The first season ended well and I will be dipping my toes into Season 2 when it is released. (Disclaimer – I watched the entire Sex in the City series, though not the movie, so you know that I have more tolerance for that kind of entertainment.)
