Heh, I was going to also post a reminder. I might actually see this one eventually. And I want to congratulate myself on living under a rock these past months. I’ve only seen the first trailer, and know pretty much nothing about the new film:

I know the stormtroopers added a smiley face line to their helmets, and I know there is a guy named Kyto Ren, and I think he is probably the bad guy, based on the helmet. There’s also skinny white girl; black guy who puts on stormtrooper armor at least one time; old Han Solo, and Leia is a General. Oh, and a roll-y poll-y droid named after the ammunition it resembles (BB-8), We got one of those for my son for a present.

I did see the trailer for Star Trek Beyond today. Schlocky action and one-liners abound, from the director of at least one of (all seven?) the Fast and the Furious films. I hope that at least some of Gene Roddenberry’s ethos (optimism for the advancement of humanity) survived in the scenes not shown, but I doubt it,

I just threw up in my mouth…

I am still laughing, and I posted that hours ago. (And I noticed, Kenai edited my post “Surprise Hottie!!” LMAO!

Still, the best cosplay ever was the fat guy going commando in the blue silky shorts. He was cut, so to speak. Bwahahahahahaha! Haven’t been able to find it since.

Hahahahaha Every time I scroll up I laugh. Life is good.

Sorry, I had to do it. Didn’t want to take down the picture, but sure didn’t want to look at “that” every time I logged into the Stranded….

Star Wars is getting RAVE reviews! Hard to believe.

Now I think Kenny edited the “hottie” under the “read more!” LOL

    Spoiler free impressions
“It was epic, awesome and perfect,” tweeted “Office” icon Rainn Wilson.

There is no way it is a perfect film.

Just another example of “OMG The New Thing is the Best Thing EVAR!” delusion we humans like to live with. AKA ‘The New Hotness’.

Also, I like the surprise hottie. That takes balls to wear. (Figurative, not literal.)

Herandar, agreed – like Kenny said about movies shown at Comic Cons. People are in the prime state of ready to watch these things. Right now, in anticipation, the whole world is like comic con. Still, it is better than if it were getting negative reviews, because with inflated scores, it would mean the movie was unwatchable.

Here are two SPOILER FILLED reviews:

    Negative (Forbes)
    Positive (Miami Herald)

    And RottenTomatoes (97 Fresh)

And some snippets from a bunch of reviews.

Funny, even in the Bad Lip Reading The Empire Strikes Back is the good one. LOL

Here is a spoilery review that is very interesting to me, both for its praises and criticisms.

    Edit: And this:

It was so so good. I won’t spoil ANYTHING, because you really need to see this movie without knowing what’s coming. Some huge moments, and tons of various emotions. The best thing, is that this felt like Star Wars. I am gonna see it a few more times while it is still in the theaters.

Not that is means anything, but currently Star Wars TFA has the highest rotten tomatoes rating of all Star Wars films. Even if you don’t like the movie, the fact that they accomplished such critical acclaim, positive fan reception, and broken box office records is almost unbelievable.

There is a lot to talk about, so after the first of the year, we should create a spoiler thread. There are a ton of details and easter eggs hidden that are quite amazing.
