The reviews of RotTR are crushing it! http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/rise-of-the-tomb-raider

The only problem that it faces is that it’s going up against Halo5, Fallout 4, & CoD: Blops 3. I hope it sells well because Sony fanbois can’t wait to pile hate on the game due to the timed exclusivity.

If it had been a Sony timed exclusive, it would have been the only game they have, it would have sold like crazy, and it would have gotten a metacritic score in the mid nineties.

      Agreed.

    Have you started it already?

It won’t go live until 9:01 PM PST (in twelve minutes). I’m going to shower & play it until I need to call it a night around 11 PM. Can’t wait to go adventuring as Lara again. I absolutely loved the reboot. Heck, I bought it twice!

OT: I really think that MS is intentionally creating the shortage of the Elite controllers (similar to Nintendo’s Wii & 3DS strategies). It’s a pretty smart strategy because it entices fence sitters & fanboys to purchase the Elite console bundle, or pay ridiculous prices on eBay. Heck, all of you know what I should my controller for!

Good point about the controllers. Hadn’t thought about that, but almost for certain that is the case.

Be sure to give us impressions, especially as it compares to the reboot.

Shortest review that sums up just how good Rise of the Tomb Raider is: move over Nathan Drake, Lara Croft just took your lunch money & called you a bitch. Nuff said until a more detailed review is written.

BTW: How RotTR is utilizing Twitch to reward viewers is the first “experiment” that I’ve ever heard of. What a great way for MS & Crystal Dynamics to be innovative. The system is built into the game where it automatically issues in-game currency/rewards when certain game milestones are accomplished by the Twitcher. By rewarding viewers for simply watching someone play creates an almost viral effect because it’s paying it forward in a sense. I can see MS implementing this with a lot of games in the future because it’s quite impressive.

I don’t even really know what I am witnessing here, but I think it is the start of something very special.

I have heard nothing, but outstanding impressions of the game. Some of my favorite reviewers have called it their favorite game of the year (in a year full of incredible games).

They’re not exaggerating about how impressive the game is, Zos. I haven’t finished it yet because my OCD kicks in as I play the story. I want to snag as many tombs, collectibles, & challenges on the first playthrough. At one point, I simply had to press forward on the campaign after wasting a half hour trying to get a collectible when I realized that I didn’t have an upgrade that would make it possible to snag.

I’m loving the puzzles, gunplay, stealth, & story so far. I can’t wait until you fire it up & experience it for yourself. You should really convince Stephy to give RotTR a shot even though she hasn’t fi shed the star reboot yet. Tell her stop being chicken. 😉
