It was pretty lack luster, but there were moments.
Here is the video I enjoyed most from the show (I queued it up) – the competitive Halo.
Here is where the Friday tournament will be broadcast.
PvZ:GW2! Operation Moon Base Z
CrackDown 3 (love the original art style coming back and insane destructibility)
Star Wars BF Air battles
Dark Souls 3 (YESSSSSS)
Forza 6 looks siiiiick
Halo 5 looks great as well!
Zos, thanks for posting these, and for the positive attitude. Forza absolutely blows the Gran Turismo series, and any other racers away.
I love the art style of Crackdown 3 (much more than the original even) but because this was basically another tech demo, wire models, developer’s desks, I am really concerned that they are actually going to deliver what they are pimping.
And Halo 5 looks phenomenal.
Check out these impressions of that actual hands on demos.
“Jones begins his demonstration by boring through a concrete wall with bullets, resulting in small pile of rubble and a hole which we could hypothetically snipe through. Jones follows this up by using a high-powered automatic to basically carve out a segment of the wall, which falls away, before blasting away enough of the wall to dart directly through it. No door? No problem. You can make one.
Jones then turns his attention to a large building, which is basically two skyscrapers connected by a footbridge. Blasting rockets at the base of the building the walls, windows, and cladding are blasted away, revealing the steel structure beneath. Destroy this and the whole building will come down, in whichever direction its immense weight dictates. Large buildings will even crush other buildings beneath their bulk.
Impressively, none of the debris disappears either. The evidence of your destruction persists for as long as the game lasts. It can even be used tactically; Jones suggests a large building could be sabotaged to tumble across a river, creating a makeshift bridge of rubble and broken beams.”
17 minutes of Crackdown 3 MP Gameplay (24 player)
I read the target is 2016, but i bet it is a 2017 game.
The amount of damaged caused by weapons is purposefully increased to show off tech.
The world already seems quite modeled. This tech is really crazy.
Zos, thanks for all the links and info. Two things. They should have shown some of that 17 minute video rather than what they did for the show, because there was really nothing new in the footage they put together for the keynote. Second, after what happened with The Division, I am a little reluctant to get my hopes up. I am going to wait until they demonstrate that all they are bragging is actually in the game. If it is, with a 24 player MP, it could be a whole lot of fun! Thanks again!
Haven’t seen you playing much this summer. I am hoping that you are earning brownie points for the days starting Aug 25, when you are going to be making huge plays followed by massive thrusts at your screen, Schvetty Balls out.
PvZ:GW2 EA conference
Backyard Battleground HUB for daily challenges and partying up! Very cool!
StrangeLuv breaks down the features of the HUB
OT: Just realized today that a Facebook friend is probably working on The Division, as he is a game tester for Massive.
And here is another look at the Backyard Battleground as a dev takes the interviewer through it.
Herbal Assault (game mode). Rose is the Plant Engie class!!
And OUTSTANDING Finale! Push the ball, but it isn’t on a cart, like the golf ball. It is free! That would be absolute mayhem in 12v12
And from the official website, PLAYER LOYALTY!
