GoW:UE – Sh!t Just Got Real

Well, it got kind of real. More real that it was yesterday. You can now pre-order Gears of War: Ultimate Edition in Standard ($40USD, $50CAN) or Deluxe($60USD, $75CAN) flavors. In summary, the Deluxe Edition gives you the Deluxe Skin Pack which includes every standard and animated lancer and gnasher weapon skin available (10 Animated Weapon skins and 36 Standard Weapon skins) and two bonus multiplayer characters: Civilian Marcus Fenix, and Aaron Griffin.

Adam Fenix multiplayer character is a bonus for all who pre-order either versions. Civilian Anya multiplayer skin and Animated Imulsion weapon skin are “bonuses” included in all versions, including after release purchase packages.

Griffin is sweet, but I play as Baird with default gnashers so as not to be easily spotted. I will be buying bought the Standard Edition.

And the second video in the Remastering Gears of War series is up!

Re-Geared for a New Generation

The other vids are embedded after the jump.

I will definitely pass on the $60 package. Skins are cool, but not when you can save some coin. Saving the $20 to place onto Halo 5 or another game makes more sense imo. The calm before the storm, folks.

    Take my $$$

Just a heads-up. There are videos up in the Dashboard Store that aren’t available on YouTube yet. One of them shows gameplay and quite a bit of the cutscenes. UE is very pretty!

Someone in the reddit forum made a spread sheet showing the unlockable, purchasable content. A great summary/reference for those interested.

That is a healthy collection of character models!

    OT.

An interview with the creator of Bulletstorm. Brief, but interesting. I would love to hear his reason for why he thinks it failed.

    Doh! Here’s the link.

There is a massive read over at Polygon. Here are the links. (Haven’t even gotten to it yet, but judging by the Reddit comments, it provides some great insight.)
