Pre-E3 2015

So, I figure the news and media are going to start spilling over the edge of the dam. So this is just a place to dump stuff that looks interesting or that you want to comment on leading up to the start of the Expo. I will start it off with yet another MOBA, King of Wushu (CryEngine 3). “Wushu” immediately caught my eye and I thought of Kenny. I have stuff to say about CryEngine, but none of it is good, so I will leave it at that. I found the music tiring by just the end of the video, so that also would be a problem. Interesting, I just realized that I don’t like traditional Japanese or Chinese music, but I love Indian (traditional and modern). Hmmm….

AND This is for Average. FINALLY! A top of the line wheel for an Xbox system! This was so long in coming.

This is also coming to the One. It looks “short”, but completely awesome.

Mega-Announcement – Microsoft Partners with Oculus.

Xbox to Oculus streaming support already confirmed for 3 games.

Oculus support comes native in Windows 10. Paired with the fact that anyone running Win 7/8 gets a free upgrade to 10, this is pretty cool. The partnership is more important than the actual feature though. Oculus comes with Xbox One controller now.

Absolutely huge news. Possible game changer simply because Oculus is the current leader in VR. I wonder what this does for the Holo Lens implementation for XB1 now that this partnership has been announced. There’s no doubt that Spencer has been working on this for awhile as a direct answer to Sony’s Morpheus. This pre-E3 has already gotten off to an amazing start & even more huge news is due for the actual E3!

It is huge news. I want to just provide this service of caution for those who might consider buying it without having tried it for several hours first. I bought 3 CAN$80 Microsoft headsets that are SO uncomfortable none of us can wear them. It is as if Microsoft designed them to sit on a Minecraft head whose ears start 1cm from the edge of the top of their head. Sound and mic are great, but unusably horrific ergonomic experience.

They look like they were designed by the same people!

Suns, save your money and look for the Polk 4Shots to go on sale, I picked up a pair for $79.99 (List is $160), and they’re fantastic compared to the MS wireless ones which gave me headaches from the pressure.

Got my Polks at EB Games, but I’ve seen them elsewhere for cheap.

I’ve had the Polk 4 Shots/Melee since it launched. Great sound & build, but the in-line mic is pooched. Polk Audio released a boom mic cable to make up for the built-in low mic gain. Very disappointed that the mic feature failed to deliver.

I’ve heard really great things about the Kingston Hyper X Cloud II.
