Rise Of The Tomb Raider – E3 Preview Trailer (2015)

Update:  E3 Timer (compliments of Reddit).

Game Informer wrote one of the laziest articles I have read in a while (I will not link to it), making Microsoft’s E3 showing sound only slightly more entertaining and significant than watching someone slip and fall in a muddy gutter. Shame on them. I think that this year’s E3 is going to be more meaningful and exciting than E3 2013, when they unveiled the One.

The Xbox One ship finally has a captain and crew.  Having grabbed the helm just moments before they hit the iceberg, certain doom averted, they are now sailin’ into clear skies and crystal blue waters.  Buried treasure under white sandy beaches and beautiful topless natives with long hair and innocent smiles await those who dared the uncharted, frozen seas risking scurvy and worse, adventuring only because they didn’t want to be left behind.  This year’s E3 will be the true unveiling of the Launch of the One, the unveiling that should have happened two years ago.

Rise Of The Tomb Raider is one little piece of that puzzle, one little leg of that journey.  And speaking of legs, I cringed at Laura’s pressing up against ice for hours on end.  When she finally stands up, those are patches of frost bite, aren’t they?  Short shorts are cute, but horribly impractical for scaling a frozen waterfall. 😉

Bro, those ain’t booty shorts, but leggings.

I anticipate this will be a huge E3 from M$ (let’s hope so).

      WTF is leggings?! 😉

Great to hear from you, Zos. I missed you this weekend. Hope studies, work, and family are all going smoothly. ❤

Congrats on the move, Zos! I know that it’s but only one thing off your back. However, you guys get to start anew again. That could be a very good thing.

I really enjoyed reading your initial post, Suns. RotTR is going to be huge! Batman: Arkham Knight, Halo 5, & RotTR will most likely round out our purchases for the rest of this year. Right, Zos?

BTW: I don’t know what can seriously top The Witcher 3. The game is sheer perfection. I’m not just raving about it simply because it’s managed to pull me away from Evolve, but the living, breathing world of Witcher 3 is ridiculous. You have to remember to stop and just people watch when you enter a village/space. The attention to detail down to the scorch marks from torches is meticulous. The amount of story in each quest took such a combined monumental effort. If people are wondering if this beats Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. The Witcher 3 crushes it hands down. Bethesda better bring it with the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online because CD Projekt Red has set the bar so high that it will take a similar effort just to match W3. CDPR has already sold me on the expansion content. Another thirty hours in that world? Just take my money already!

Thanks Suns/Blank, I can’t wait to get everything put away, we have a lot more room now and the man cave is going to be epic.

RoTR is a must-buy, as are Batman : AK and Halo 5 (probably). I am sure there will be all sorts of surprises and gems that come by the end of the year as well.

All I can think about of at the moment is getting back into The Witcher, the game has the best world since Mass Effect 2 (which I also think did a great job with that). It is truly a “next gen” experience, with just how polished each aspect is.

Thanks for the impressions about the Witcher. I enjoyed watching Kenny play last weekend and I look forward to seeing more, especially if there is anything that even slightly resembles the launch cinematic (not in graphic fidelity but in witch slaying). Don’t know anything about the series, so I thought it was more a Van Helsing type thing, than a Red Dead thing.

I finished GoW:J this week. Cornie helped my with the last boss, and then we went on to do all of the Aftermath content. Though that ends quite anti-climatically, all of it is great Gears story/gameplay. I love the Gears of War campaigns. Now I am free to finish Castle Crashers which I re-started last weekend.

Halo 5 will probably be awesome, especially if they design more maps like Empire specifically with the new gameplay elements in mind. The twisted Midship remake “Regret” was a disaster as regards fun-ability. 343 needs to stay away from that. Otherwise, I thought the MP gameplay changes shown in the Beta were absolutely brilliant.

Agreed about the surprises this coming year, and it is those unanticipated games that have the greatest potential for grabbin’ us by the short-hairs.

    Semi-OT (Fanboi comedy)

With the trailer for RotTR came the box art for the game, and wouldn’t you know it, Sony has to get their Uncharted 4 Box Art out there now, too, even though their game doesn’t come until next year! Desperate much?! Microsoft for two generations in a row has handed the Console War Crown to Sony, and Sony has fumbled it with butter fingers, dropping it twice to clang loudly on the ground.

    And Fully OT

And a list of other cool flicks in the pipes.

Sorry, but that engine that Bethesda is using is definitely NOT impressive when an open world game such as The Witcher 3 is smoking everything graphic-wise on the consoles right now. I loved Fallout 3, but this may just be a pass for me.

Graphics are but one aspect of a game. Look at this troll ^^^. Still early to say as well. Appreciate under promising and over delivering, VS showing initial “target” gameplay.

Label me the troll then because no one is crossing this bridge! You shall NOT PASS!!! Ha!

If you loved Fallout 3, then you cannot pass on 4. The graphics may not end up being incredible, but the gameplay will. I’ll be keeping an eye on your gaming activity around the time this gets released 😉 Which apparently is later this year/holiday season.

OT: Very interesting / Exciting… M$ will have a presence at the first “PC” E3 conference.
