If you file a ticket with 2K customer support, they will reinstate your progress, Suns. They were previously unlocking the second tier hunters as compensation for the resets, but now they are restoring progress (masteries, perks, badges, etc.).

  2. February 27, 2015 1:37 am

Two things, when I was reset, all my Hunters were unlocked. That was nice, and that is what 2K/TRS can do. They can do nothing more.

“If you want to submit a support request, our support agents will work to help you as quickly as possible. We do not have the ability to manually grant you your progress back (like levels, perks, badges or mastery), we would like to offer to a make good for the inconvenience of your lost progression.”

2K says they will “make good” for the inconvenience, whatever, that means, but they require a screenshot, so I will have to do that later. Really, there are so many hoops and so little promised, it almost isn’t worth the bother. When I get home and have access to my screen and a camera, I will take a picture and file a ticket.

TRS has provided 2K with the necessary procedures in order to reinstate your level, associated masteries, perks, & badges. This was stated directly by MacMan. Jump through the hoops of fire, & put in the ticket.

    • February 27, 2015 7:43 am

I put in the ticket and have already received a reply. I looks like she wanted to verify my info, so I reaffirmed that she was right, and now the ball is back in their court. I would like the masteries reinstated. That would definitely be nice.

By the way, Parnel and Cabot in Defend = Major Points for Parnel.

LOL You got your post in while I was formatting mine to make it easier to read, Suns! Argh! 😛 These are the latest balancing changes that will take effect when the upcoming update is released as per MacMan:

    All Monsters

Minor maintenance and improvements. There is now a cooldown after each stealth pounce. All monsters can see recent damage on their health bar to help make burst damage visible.

    Kraken
Fixing some flight edge cases that were causing inconsistencies making him too powerful or too weak depending on the situation.

Tranq Darts, Stasis Grenades and Harpoons pull Kraken down at a consistent rate regardless of whether he is in combat or out of combat. (they used to stack outside of combat)

Kraken’s flight speed is no longer slowed by Tranqs and Stasis grenades since they pull him to the ground where running speed is affected.

    Aftershock:
Fixed a bug that was causing Aftershock to not break harpoon traps, Arc Mines or Sound Spikes.

    Wraith
Making her movement speed less bursty which makes her easier to keep track of. Making Supernova less lethal while still allowing it to be just as powerful. Making Warp Blast a damage dealer instead of a traversal mechanic.

    Warp Traversal Speed reduced 25%

    Supernova:
    Duration decreased by 50%

    Decoy:
Wraith becomes visible for half a second when shot while cloaked.
    Cooldown increased by 2 seconds.

    Warp Blast:
    Speed reduced by 40%.
Radius levels up now instead of range.
Max travel distance set to 30 meters for all levels.
    Damage increased by 10%.

    Trappers

    Increasing the Trapper’s effectiveness.

    Mobile arena:
Can no longer be heard by the Monster player (equipment sfx and VO callout.) Monster players need to be more aware and see the location of the Hunters rather than just listening for the Mobile Arena audio.

    Markov
Balancing the Arc Mines a bit.

    Arc Mine:
    Damage reduced by 20%
Fixed a bug where damage extended past the trigger radius.
Health reduced by 75% (they pop real easy now with flame breath, etc.)
Arm time increased by one second.

    Hyde
Making Toxic Grenade a more effective area of denial weapon while also making it less spammy. Buffing Hyde’s overall damage output.

    Toxic Grenade:
    DPS increased by 50%
Now explodes in proximity to a monster (works vs airborne Kraken now)
    Throw rate reduced
Toxic cloud lifetime reduced by 15%

    Mini gun:
    Accuracy increased by 12%
    Damage increased by 20%

    Parnell
    Multi-fire Rocket launcher:
Has better accuracy while jumping and jet-packing.

    Maggie
    Harpoon Trap:
Arm time increased by one second.

    Griffin
    Sound Spike:
Detection range increased to 60 meters
Now detects stealthing monsters within a 15 meter radius

    Bucket
    Guided Missile Launcher:
    Damage increased 11%

    Cabot
    Rail Cannon:
    Damage reduced by 30%
    Reload time increased by 25%

    Val
Increasing her overall effectiveness. Made her Medgun a bit more bursty. This makes capacity and reload perks useful for Val.

    Medgun:
    Heals 20% faster
    Consumes ammo 2.5x faster.
Takes 50% more time to recharge.

    Tranquilizer Darts:
Duration increased to 10 seconds on all monsters (was already 10 seconds on Wraith, now other monsters match)

    Caira
    Acceleration Field:
    Cooldown increased by 15 seconds.

    Alana, thank you!
I would love it if you would bump me up to Level 30. I have almost hit Level 20 on my own again, and wouldn’t feel like I was cheating my way up there. It would also help me catch up with my friends who got ahead of me when I lost my progress. Please, level 30 with the perks as you described. When that is done, I will close the ticket. You are wonderful! 🙂

    Hey Michael,
My pleasure! Sounds good to me. 🙂 I’m just going to escalate your ticket now!
If you have any other questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to shoot me a message. Always more than happy to help out!
    Cheers,
    Alana M.

I am playing the wraith nonstop, and I have to say they shouldn’t nerf the Decoy. The wraith is the weakest in clear line of sights situations and although he moves fast, his leap doesn’t cover as much ground as the Goliath. Making running away almost impossible in big wide open areas.

In close areas the decoy is easy to pop. Hyde is the best anit-Wraith character, if you time it right you can burn and reveal the real wraith easily, and he does residual burn damage which eats away the armor for a few seconds after, etc. Caira can technically do it too, but I find Hyde’s burn to last longer.

The other thing is that if you play as a wraith you can get a sense of the window the decoy provides, sometimes is very little depending on how many points is on it. Very hard to play it unless they buff his armor, and since they already nerfed the blast, it would be useless at 1-2 points. Could make it the quickest kill as a stage 1.

I think is just a matter of time before he gets easier to kill strategically, especially with the sensors from Griffin.

I would put Griffin, Hyde, Caira and Bucket on him. Bucket’s Drones are very good at killing him and negating hiding spots.

      OT:

A way to get the Abduction 2nd star with wraith.

I used mainly Caira, isolated her and kept doing it over and over. After she loses health she reverts to healing non-stop. Easiest AI to do most damage mastery

The problem with the Wraith’s decoy ability is that it’s easily abused. If TRS had implemented the thirty second cooldown as they should have in the 3gb Day One patch, Wraith players wouldn’t be spamming it as they currently do. Not only that, but the decoy can also go Super Nova. This makes that ability serve as a minion rather than an escape mechanic.
With the nerfs on its traversal & reduction of damage to Super Nova, we may start seeing more balance. As it is, there’s a reason why the Wraith has a seventy wins to loss percentage.

I was watching the Evolve Chappie Challenge with Zender & Kenai today, and we gave props to the team that elected to play as Goliath rather than the team that cheesed the Wraith. Even TRS’ monster player masquerading as Chappie played as Goliath because they realize that the Wraith needs serious retooling. I’m not trying to denegrate anyone playing as the Wraith. Rather I’m just pointing out the obvious OP nature of the monster as it’s currently being played.

Yeah but here’s the thing about the decoy, once you force the real wraith to dash or use any of it’s powers, including a simple melee it pops.

I don’t think it’s a real wall because with a character that can burn you can find where the real wraith is almost instantly.

The other thing is the decoy is as dumb as the regular AI, in many cases if you push towards the real wraith, the decoy will attack anyone behind you. It takes a few seconds before it picks a target. If you run past it, you can continue to lay it down to the real wraith.

The real problem is that hunters don’t know how to counter this, as soon as the decoy comes out they attack it, and just extend the window where the wraith can heal and use another power, etc.

All the powers for the wraith except abduction, are really only useful upclose, without the window of recovery that the decoy provides the Wraith is toast, it can easily be cornered into a spot it can’t traverse fast enough.

I guarantee you that whenever all players max out the wraith and see how close the decoy spawns to the real wraith and how slow he moves while cloaked, they will pick out where he is going very easily.

As it is right now you can just shoot in the direction of where the decoy spawn and you might uncloak the wraith.

The wraith without the decoy as it is at Stage 1 can be taken out even by wildlife. That’s how weak it can be.

The thing is if they nerf it and then people learn how to kill it, then that class will be another Kraken, it kills the variety. It will be all Goliaths by the end of it.

Goliath already takes more damage, traverses longer distances and has an almost perfect progression of abilities.

Here’s an example of what I mean vs. the AI. You can see a Stage 1 Wraith, with only Blast, Nova and Decoy. It has no long range power, so all it can do is come forward with blast and nova, and deploy the decoy. The decoy AI was so bad it didn’t even attack just floated around the end. But even then it was the only time the wraith got a break from being pummelled. If they nerf the decoy, then a Wraith has even less of a chance as a Stage 1.

Also the decoy AI is so dumb, that if you deploy it near wildlife and hunters, chances are it will fight wildlife instead.

Off-topic to the Wraith debate, observer mode is going to be a boon for this community. The rooms limited to five are problematic. Allowing a bunch of the extras to watch, and in that way even facilitate tag-team jump in, jump out, will be wonderful. Twitch’s 30 second delay is somewhat rubbish because you can’t cheer and enjoy the moments as they happen. With a spectator mode, that delay should be eliminated. Also, with spectator mode, by definition, the game booted up, so that the tag-teaming can happen all that more easily.

P.S. I just got a letter this morning declaring that my rank has been bumped to 30 with the respective unlocks implemented. WOOT!

  8. March 3, 2015 6:30 am

My level has been bumped to 30 and I have been given elite master of the first 8 hunters (I was promised all 12 but you know these people).

Parnel/Abe/Caira/Cabot are still where I left them this weekend. I don’t care. Those are my favorites anyway, so leveling them up won’t be unpleasant. It actually didn’t work immediately and it wasn’t until I restarted about 5 times over the course of 5 hours that my profile was finally able to connect to the server and update.

But it is done. I am ready to go. I have closed the ticket. What a mess.

That’s awesome really. I didn’t mind leveling up any of the 3rd tier. The hardest for me where: Hank (The long range Orbital strike was a pain to time correctly), Markov (For the life of me I couldn’t get the 2 arc mines for a while). Val pre-patch it was so slow to heal teammates before being incapacitated, they would just drop like flies against stage 3 monsters.

but yeah it’s great you have at least some levels to go along with the last hunters. Badges, awards, etc. become meaningless once you hit 40.

I wouldn’t say I would have loved to be reset instead of doing those, but when those bars weren’t going up if I had known they would max those, I would have welcomed a reset, lol.

That’s actually awesome news, Suns. Aren’t you looking a gift horse in the mouth a bit though complaining about not having your third tier characters mastered (as 2K support had promised)? I mean, were you anywhere remotely close to mastering those other eight characters? You might have two-starred a good deal of them, but three-starring? You were even under the impression that everyone’s progress was going to be reset when the patch was released before I corrected the misunderstanding. Come on, brutha. 2K pretty much made up for their two-week progress reset debacle, right?

    • March 4, 2015 1:35 am

Kenny, I am often wrong about game/sports, but I don’t think I am very often ungrateful or petty.

If you noticed on the official forums, 2K/TRS announced the server maintenance AFTER they held it yesterday. So, I spent all afternoon (I got home early because of graduation) trying to log on, to no avail – thinking they (or I) had somehow busted my profile even further after receiving a message that it was fixed. Just the thought of having to restart that support ticket process was almost too much.

So, not really. Saying they will unlock mastery for all the hunters and then only following through with that for their Level 20 promise, that kind of thing makes them look incompetent, not generous. Furthermore, it set me up for a let down.

Yes, in mixing up the leaderboard with the character progress situations, I thought everyone was going to be reset – EVERYONE. If we are all in the same boat, it is very different than individuals having to struggle back alone.

Fun times with friends, with the game working as it should, will make me feel like 2K has made up for that hassle yesterday. I was zen until then.

Thank you for trying to keep me on the straight and narrow, Kenny. I think in this case, you just didn’t know (because I didn’t tell the story) how rough my time with that game was yesterday. 🙂 ❤

I look forward to workin' on Parnell's crew over the next couple of days, and havin' some good times this weekend.

Yes, I was confused on why you were so upset about 2K not escalating all of your characters to mastery despite them offering that all twelve of them would be mastered. It’s a Debbie Downer when the mouth says one thing & the other parts don’t deliver. Sheesh…

I didn’t jump onto Evolve at all last night because I was preparing my taxes, so I had no idea that the servers were down for maintenance. Thus, I couldn’t have known why you shifted away from your Zen-like state for the game, Mike. You were probably switching back & forth from rage to freaking out wondering what the heck was happening. Yikes, 2K’s got my brutha stroking out! When I read your initial post, I was thinking to myself, “What the heck is Mike smoking?” Ha! Now I understand your frustration, but I’m very glad that it mostly worked out for the better part of the progression restoration. Much love & respect, Onii-San.
