Evolve Anywhere (Evolve: Hunters Quest)

January 22, 2015

imageGet ready to Evolve anywhere. TRS/2K will be releasing an iOS app that will enable gamers to watch mp replays via heat maps similar to what is shown at the end of games. The app will release near the launch of Evolve (Feb. 10th). MacMan can’t speak about it quite yet on the official forums, but he was clearly excited. You can apparently earn progress toward your actual console progress thru the app. Read the game’s summary:

Evolve: Hunters Quest is a match 3 puzzle combat game based on the “Best of Show” E3 award winner, Evolve. Use match 3 tokens of the same color to unleash devastating attacks on your enemies, and fill up energy bars to activate hunters’ special abilities.

Earn Mastery Points to rank up your character in both the mobile and console games. Explore the planet of Shear in search of new wildlife and monsters. Discover and complete your collection of exotic wildlife in the Bestiary, and earn unique art for the Evolve console game. Enhance your Evolve skills by watching your multiplayer match replays from a strategic top-down view, and devouring intel in the Game Changer. Evolve: Hunters Quest lets you continue your Evolve experience from anywhere!

• Battle through over 100 exciting missions
• Unleash devastating attacks using a variety of hunters
• Match 3 tokens of the same color to attack enemies and activate hunters’ skills
• Earn Mastery Points to rank up your character in the console game
• Collect unique wildlife in the Bestiary

A network connection is required.

Full functionality requires a my2K account and a supported copy of Evolve game. See ( and ( for details.

Looks great, and here I am with a Kindle! Epic fail! J&T both have iPads, though, so they will be able to get some fun out of it.

Kenny, you better pack that iPad away when you get to school.

::students studying quietly at their desks,

Suddenly Mr. Chung jumps up and shouts “BUFFING, BUFFING!! You idiot!!!! Start shooting!!!

Teachers across the hall call the cops thinking there’s a shooter in their school.

Kenny is dragged away in cuffs. ::

Don’t need that iPad since I have an iPhone 6, brutha! Grymmie also has an iPhone 6 as well. I went against better judgment & updated the iPad to OS 8. Well, that brilliant move basically bricked it because the new OS is so processor intensive. The only way to uninstall the update is to reset it to factory settings which means losing everything. Thing is like molasses now. Actually, slower than molasses. Argh! At least it’s not a Kindle Fire. The only thing on fire is your rage on picking that as your choice of tablet. Ha!

BTW: The app is currently being beta tested in Canada. Since J&T are there, they might as well d/l it from the App Store for free. It won’t show up on the U.S. App Store until Feb. 10th. Here’s the link:

That’s awesome. I have to say they have “evolved” using mobile games as tie-ins to the franchises. 2k did that with NBA 2k and eventually the mobile game became a game mode in the series. I ended up playing 2k14 more on the iphone 5 than on the console.

Destiny’s App is not a game, but i use it tons because it is so fast for finding people to do raids, and also for patch updates, stats, etc.

I know AC and Mass Effect have been others with good games that rewarded in the console version.

Last but not least Injustice: God Among Us. It got more dlc than the console version.Very fun game.

So have any of you looked at the replays of your games from the Beta yet? I got to watch the Kraken and his minions slaughter us in Defend again.

Nope. Never look back, and if I did, it would be to watch the game that we took right to the wire and beat the minions with almost zero health on the last generator left. 22+ thousand for Bucket and his sentries. THAT is the kind of stuff I rewatch. 😉

And the Companion App is great fun! I am surprised.
