Ridley Scott Tackles Moses In Exodus: Gods and Kings

July 11, 2014

Ridley Scott has earned a lifetime pass from me for Alien and Bladerunner. If he spent the rest of his life making rubbish, I would still be grateful.

If you haven’t seen it, I recommend Kingdom of Heaven. Orlando Bloom is a bit underwhelming, and perhaps Eva Green as well, but all of the other actors in it are perfect. And nearly all of the characters are based on real participants of the Crusades. It’s also fairly historically accurate, particularly by Hollywood standards.

Thank you. I don’t think I have, but I have wanted to for a long time now.

I’m thinking this is just Hollywood dribble…. Gave myself a ‘pass’ on Noah as well….

For one, Moses was 80 years old when he returned to Egypt to lead the Hebrews to Caanan. In this trailer, I Didn’t see a gray hair on his head….. Also, I don’t think Egypt was ‘that’ refined of a place during that time period. The dress, armor, chariots, etc… Look more like the Roman period (ad 70), and not bc 3000 when the events actually took place.

    Yawn. Moving right along.

Actually, some of the shots of Moses here are before he murdered and ran away in exile. He was young then. I will wait to find out what his source material is. As it turned out, the Noah movie was “direct from Kabbalist and Gnostic sources“.
