The Division News Update

March 28, 2014

There is a bunch of new content over at the official The Division blog: The February Q&A, the March Community Wrap-up, and the GDC 2014 Interview. Also, from the February Community Wrap-up, there is news of a live action film. Now that is the kind of cosplay I can get excited about (sorry, I can’t upload any photos from here – it is definitely worth checking out though). It looks like we aren’t the only ones who found the E3 presentation inspiring.

After finding out the Snowdrop Engine has been in development for over 5 years, it kind of relieves some of the weight off my shoulders, so to speak, for this game. I was thinking it was a sort of Frostbite 3, Beta Test deal DICE had with BF4.

It really makes sense as to how they can make it look so good. I’m still hoping for a late-2014 release, but like we all keep saying, with a game this ambitious, they’re not going to send it out until it’s near perfect.

Just announced – Universal Windows Apps, which run on all windows platforms including Xbox One. I don’t know if anyone remembers me rambling about wanting this, but this could be a game changer. An app market is exactly what M$ needs. Could mean some incredible content.

Thanks, Zos. I was just telling Kenny yesterday that I really wish I had my pinball (and other XBLA games on the One). Great news!

Also, Massive, while not commenting on rumors, is claiming that The Division is on track.

“Production is on track and great,” was Barnard’s retort. “All we can do is offer our official response, which is that we don’t comment on speculation and rumours. It’s unfortunate that that’s out there but everything’s going great here in Sweden apart from the weather…”

Yes, Happy Birthday Kenny! I tried xbl messaging you yesterday, but after deleting you off my friends’ list twice the other day, you no longer appear in the web based friends list. lol

OT I just came across some Game of Thrones parodies. For those of you who have been watching the series, there will definitely be something in there for you. For those who haven’t, well, you know what to do.

Looks like Massive is getting some help from other Ubi-owned companies on The Division. Total of 3 working on the game together. Looking good, folks! Also, I recommend checking out The Division’s subreddit on ( for any news on development.
