Titanfall Weapon & Map pics (sneak preview)

A savvy Titanfall PC Beta player has used a Hex Editor to discover some coding for weapons, ordinance, and kits in the game. I placed them in a previous comment on this thread. In addition, there are fourteen maps that have been discovered in the coding (the map names say Angel City/Fracture due to it being the Beta code). I was able to find some pics and descriptions of the weapons, as well as map load screens. Take a gander at some of the Pilot & Titan weapons and maps that will be available ready for us when the game drops.

I have been thinking about Titanfall a lot the last few days. Been so busy, I don’t think I will be able to play much before the beta is over. Possibly late tonight… Great game.

OT: Have you guys seen the new gameplay for the PS4 game “The Order: 1886”?

Visually looks stunning… but what really stood out to me was the generic look to the actual gameplay. Multiplayer would be a great feature though.

Only thing is, there is no MP planned for it. LOL That was the only game that I found interesting at Sony’s E3 show last year. Funny how the Sony fanboys aren’t referring to The Order as ammo for the flame wars.

It’s a shame about your lack of time due to your busy schedule, Zos. We miss kicking butt with you.

Forgot how to do the embedding, but yeah Zoso a couple running in the last snow in portland, the woman falls after saying how perfect it is to run in the snow.

      Saw that! LOL classic PDX.

Looks great! In an interview, a dev said it was hard to play the beta because there was so much stuff that wasn’t included. One can imagine all sorts of loadouts/combo, and that depth will do great things to keeping the game fresh. The Parkour will also serve to keep this game incredibly fun for a very long time. The stories of pulling off some incredible moves to get in position for great pwnage will only get better as time passes and experience and skills accrue.

Not this kind of parkour, right?

You don’t know the half of it, Suns. rED and I were with him while he was editing it. I found that Mr. Bill audio clip for him on YouTube. Simply adding audio to a clip makes it even more hilarious. Nothing but win here! Bwahahaha!

If you think Grymmie’s clip is funny, you guys need to check out rED’s “Beta 2” TF clip on Upload. The guys inspired me to add an audio clip into my “Kung Fu kick, sucka!” clip which is also on Upload.

    • February 18, 2014 10:47 pm

Keep them there so that we can view them when we get a chance! WOOT!

    • February 19, 2014 2:43 am

You beat me to it, Suns! Thanks for the share! And I’m not stopping by empty handed:

I am ready to sing a song from The Lion King: “Can You Feel ….”

And yes, Blankman, not that kind of Parkour! Bwahahahahaha The first 5 seasons of The Office were exceptional TV. Simply outstanding!

  5. February 19, 2014 5:33 pm

I played a little more after I got home last night. Got 3rd on the team with 49 attrition points including 6? pilot kills and 2 Titan kills, but I was “parkouring” like those guys from the Office.

Later, I watched Cornie and Johann play I realized that the sky is the limit for this game. With a rodeo rider on his back, Johann ejected and killed the dood in mid-air (not a first but still cool anyway). Under opposite circumstances, Cornie jumped off the enemy Titan to kill the guy who got out to kill him, then jumped right back on and finished the job while its pilot lay dead at its feet. LMAO!

Beginners beware because about 2 months in, the skill level is going to be brutally high. This isn’t a criticism, just a reality. With the Parkour, Titan, Loadout, and Burn Card options, this game is darn near infinitely deep and will reward those who practice and play intelligently and with teammates. Jaws will have to be picked up off the floor every round.

You are correct about the fierce level of competition that will be experienced in not months, but a few short weeks after TF launches, Suns. People that reached the max level in the Beta were already starting to get acclimated to the verticality, wall running, and parkouring. I need to develop some proficiency at chaining together wall running/hanging and positioning myself to take out enemies. We need to take a cue from The Matrix’s Morpheus, “Do you believe that my being stronger or faster has anything to do with my muscles in this place?” and “Free your mind.” Those lines pretty much sum up what’s possible with the depth of movement in this game. There’s no doubt that we’ll be witnessing some spectacular gameplay. As you said, jaws will be dropping onto the ground for sure. We just need to remember not to spend too much time marveling at the impressive kills & get back into the fight.

The Burn cards will keep things very interesting because it’s a gamble each time you use one. The life expectancy in a Titan is sure to diminish as solid strategies are utilized. As it is, more and more players are already using the kamikaze nuke strategy to rack up numerous human- controlled player kills. Communication will be vital if we’re going to “P.S.I.” our opponents, and that’s one aspect that we already excel at. There are already Titan strategies that I’ve formulated in my head that will be extremely useful in battle, but I won’t post them here. Some things need to stay a community trade secret. 😉

LOL No doubt. Looking forward to receiving files that will self-destruction, and coded voice communications that governments can’t crack. hee hee hee

By the way, be sure to check out the PA Titanfall links I posted below (in my other comment). Good stuff with some interesting insights. What a game!

(PS Gabe called it a system seller. It has begun!)

I loved these articles. My favorite part is the ending quote from Gabe.

“Even with all that I’m still really missing the Titanfall beta. The word I keep using with my friends to describe it is “perfect”. It’s a must own if you have an Xbox One and it’s finally a reason to buy an Xbox One if you’ve been on the fence. I was able to start playing last Thursday and played everyday until we left home on Monday morning. Sunday night before bed I turned to my wife and said “that’s it. That’s the last round of Titanfall I will play until March 11th.” She pointed out that March 11th also happens to be our 14th wedding anniversary. Of course I knew that and I explained that the traditional gift for 14 years is “giant robots fired from space.”

Our wives have no idea what’s about to hit them.

Get that honey do list Done by March 10th my FFF brothers, shitz about to get real.

BF4 tonight. And Gears or something old school.

Ars Technica writing staff have compiled their (mostly positive) impressions and analysis of TF here. An interesting read, where even the criticisms are entertaining because we can see right through them.

    Essays include:

The smart pistol is a smart addition

…In other words, the smart pistol makes Titanfall more accessible to more players not by removing skill from the equation, but by letting players get value out of skills other than twitch reflexes. Not everyone is going to like that change, but for me, it just might be a game-changer. …

    Better living through map design

…It’s not enough to simply dump giant mech suits into a first-person shooter’s toy box and expect magic; for proof, look no further than Halo 4’s Mantis suits, which rarely turn the tide in online battles. So what’s the key to the appeal of Titanfall’s titular Titans? More than minutiae like movesets and weapon balance, it’s level design. …

“This is parkour. Internet sensation of 2004.”

…Not only do these moves give players a new way to set themselves up, but they also multiply the options for either pursuing or escaping enemies. In a game like Halo, you could run, jump in a beautifully predictable arc, or duck behind something—that’s it. In Titanfall, you’re almost always a few moves away from a building roof, even if that roof is three buildings away. Even without buildings around, the double jump prevents your movement from being so predictable that an enemy can shoot you out of the air with little effort. …

BTW, the comment section over there has some reasonably intelligent discussions happening, too.

  8. February 20, 2014 8:43 pm

For those who need a fix (and want to get to know the devs a bit) Respawn did a live stream of them chatting and playing and playing the Beta in full, or highlights below:

Interesting tidbit. If you hack one spectre, it will WiFi hack the other spectres in the vicinity. 😀

Titanfall’s “prestiging” system is called “Generations.” Here’s a pic of the emblems associated with each level. According to the Generation’s selection description,
“Years of battle have taken their toll. We can regenerate you… at a cost.
Your body can be restored. But your memory and your experience…all will be lost.
When you awaken you will respawn a [next level] generation Pilot.
You will be better, sharper, acquiring experience even faster than before.”

    Watch this kid play Titanfall.

That kid is actually a YouTube personality that got invited to EA/Respawn’s London event. I call B.S. on his claim that it’s his first game on the Beta which he states several times in the vid. The proof is that he’s already rocking the Carbine with the HCOG scope, and his Titan Nuclear Ejection is unlocked. If it were actually his first game, the Carbine would have iron sights, and Nuclear Ejection is unlocked at level five. This vid isn’t worthy of a watch simply because he’s a fraud. Fricking try hard. GTFO!

    • February 22, 2014 3:33 pm

At the end of the game he was level 3. I had a great first game and leveled to 3.

Not sure what to think about the unlocks. Wasn’t paying attention to them.

IMO he was playing for the first time. He seemed genuinely surprised by things, but learned fast. Sweet player, effortless…. Dude killed 16 pilots and 35 bots! First game or not, 16!…

It’s the principle behind it, Jimmy. That dude was in the Alpha & played the Beta for three hours at the TF London event. That all happened before playing the Beta that just ended this Wednesday. Not sure about his unlocks? Are you still a bit hungover from last night’s escapades, Jimbo? LOL Dude, the proof is on-screen! Genuinely surprised?!? I can fake that like a pornstar fakes pleasure. If you bought his “act of genuine surprise,” I’ve got some primo beachfront property to sell you in Kansas. 😉

BTW: With all of this ‘resolution gate’ from Sony. I thought I’d just throw this pic in to sum it up.
    Resolution Gate

OT: After Sony fanbois lambasted MS on using an applause track on the XB1’s reveal event, it looks like Sony has employed the same exact practice at the PS4 Japan launch. Where are the cries of fakery from Sony fanbois now? Yep, nothing but sounds of crickets. Talk about a bunch of hypocrites. LOL

It doesn’t matter how proficient everyone thinks they may be because the vid has info that will prove to be helpful in everyone’s gameplay.
