Sony Press Conference
So I won’t be updating this section game by game. We don’t have nearly as any PS3 players here as 360 so I’ll only be posting the major points. Feel free to add any gameplay or trailers for PS3/PS4 here.

Here is the PS4 hardware

PS4 first party games have NO used game restrictions. It will not require any online checks whatsoever, but multiplayer gaming will require a Playstation Plus subscription (Premium, $5/month)

Playstation 4 will be released “Holiday 2013” and cost $399

On behalf of all of us, thanks rED. This is great! We can turn the schedule into a list of links as each conference takes place! Lots to look forward to!

I am curious to hear the developers talk about the systems, in particular, about MS’ Cloud computing support. Is it really going to allow them to offload computation, or is this just smoke and mirrors?

    New Trailers:

Battlefield 4: Official “Siege of Shanghai” Multiplayer Trailer

The destruction is phenomenal, and with the numbers finally reaching proper numbers, the battle is truly on an epic scale.

Battlefield 4: Official Commander Mode Trailer

    Non E3 Related.

Just saw that “State of Decay” is now available on Arcade for only $20. There is a free trial. Metascore is 78. If you remember, this is that SP zombie open world game that we were talking about a few months ago. I’ve been watching a few vids and reading reviews. There is a lot of love going on for this game. Gonna check out the trial and go from there….

As long as it us better than the walking dead SI. I need to be retconed of that game.

    • June 10, 2013 7:45 pm

Just played an hour of the demo. Pretty good. But…. There is no co-op. I wish there was.

      Think I’ll pass…..

£429 they can begger. Gonna wait for at least a £100 price drop.

rED and Grymmie, if you wouldn’t mind, as the direct feed YouTubes become available, please swap out the Gametrailer links. (I noticed that someone deleted them off my comment and I don’t mind, but the direct feed Tubes are much better quality than the Gametrailer cam vids.)

Yes@Grymmie, re: BF4. THAT is next generation!

Also Yes@Fire and Herandar – that is some bold ass pricing – MS is Captain Morgan and I am sitting on a short legged chair directly in front of him.

Way ahead of ya bud. I took those from your comments and moved them to the actual post. I’ve begun replacing the Gametrailer links with youtube ones starting with the ones you commented, and planned on giving you all the love and credit!

BTW, nowhere have I explicitly heard that BF4 is 64 players on console. The demo was played on PC with Xbox One controllers

    • June 10, 2013 7:50 pm

      Sweet, and thank you!

And if they gimp BF for the console again, that would be a massive display of an utter lack of confidence in MS/XBL/ and the new “Cloud computing” that they propose they will offer. It is not good to Ass-ume, but because they alternative would be unthinkable (just as another run of unreliable hardware would be unthinkable), one takes it as a given.

By the way, the BF4 YouTube MP vid is different from the Gametrailers walkthrough – being basically just a highlight reel. Gotta watch the Gametrailers version, too!

    LMAO!

PS4 – no region bullshit?, no signing in to play, used games, and $399. They certainly “win” on a couple of fronts, anyway. LOL

Haha they are smartly striking while the iron is hot. I wish their policies were for the Xbox…however I am not jealous of their games whatsoever. I watched every conference today (literally 12 hours of coverage on gametrailers, someone PLEASE take the reigns of updating this post for the rest of today) and the software the Xbox showed/teased was unmatched. Everything else is multiplatform so it’s a moot point for games like Watch Dogs and Destiny.

Of course I’d rather pay $400 and have NO used game restrictions. But if the games aren’t interesting whatsoever then all of that stuff doesn’t really matter. I’m hoping that MS will respond to this large pricing discrepancy by offering a subsidized console plan..

    • June 10, 2013 9:09 pm

Agreed about the appeal of a system via its games more than its pricing. For the 360, all it took was Gears of War. Many of the games I saw today looked very cool. I look forward to reading specifics about the systems and games themselves.

Thanks for updating the post as much as you did! Good enough. Anything additional can just be added in the comments.

It looks like Rocksmith 2014 is only current gen, which is a bummer. On a positive note, Dice has confirmed 64 players for consoles. NICE.

Anyone else notice they’re called it the “Xbox One Day 1 Edition”
Why not reverse youe Xbox One for Day 1. Seems like something is up there.
