AICN: The Pros and Cons of The Hobbit at 48 fps

December 15, 2012

Zos has thoughts on this as well. Might want to see the 2D version first. Also, Harry loved it.

Yeah, it definitely looked different at 48 fps. I’m going to see it soon and post my thoughts over at my blog. It’s worth seeing in theatres, that’s for sure. And the soundtrack surpasses the Lord of the Rings. Honestly, it’s one of the best movie soundtracks I’ve ever heard.

Lookin’ forward to reading about everyone’s impressions.

Because of nasty scene-ruining subtitles, a smaller screen, and toilets about 500 meters from the theater, I not going to bother seeing this on the “big screen”. I will be buying the Blu-Ray/DVD set and having it shipped out as soon as it is available though. And then I will thoroughly enjoy watching it at my leisure, with snacks and a pause button, and nice theater surround sound, not in the least bothered by the fact that the film “is full of bloat”.

Be aware that the extended cut will release sometime in 2013 with 20 to 30 minutes of additional footage.

Just a heads-up, ty has written up an extensive review on the movie over on his site.
