I think I sounded like that when I first played Dead Island. Must admit it’s pretty fun once you get in to it. Except maybe the combat which is a little “swing and pray”.

but yeah this is a vid of me and Blank when he was showing me around the game over the weekend:

Thanks for this video, Frenik. So many of these games I have no idea what they are like to play (even with all the promo videos). Seeing actual in-game footage is great. Dead Island is much more visceral than I thought. Looks great!

Dead Island is a riot to play with friends! Almost every zombie-based game is better with co-op. Frank & I were laying waste to zombies. The GOTY edition of Dead Island is now $20 @ Best Buy. For twenty bucks, it’s a definite bargain for a solidly fun game. I recommend it to the usual suspects regardless if you’ve already finished it (Zos & Stephy).

Here’s the thing initially I didn’t like it because it didn’t have the swarm feel of Left 4 Dead nor the twitchy gameplay. Aside from building and modifying weapons it didn’t have the silly fun factor of Dead Rising 2.

It had the Borderlands weapon and looting style, but aside from the weapon mods you didn’t really get any difference between them just some random generated weapon that would work for a few chapters until you had to sell it and get a better one.

Now the main difference for me between Borderlands and Dead Island, is that Dead Island can scare the shit out of you and has buckets of blood.

and the game is getting bigger, and it’s really easier to connect with other people who are around the same area. So I would actually say that it’s not only fun to play with friends but it’s kind of the perfect co-op to play with randoms too, since people like having other people to help them with quests and such, and it’s really easy to jump in and out of rooms to find the perfect one.

The auto leveling system is what is doing it for me. Initially, I didn’t have it turned on to gain more xp, but now I can join any room and they will be up to my level which can really extend the length of playing time for me. Basically you can join anyone and it will be just like your game.
