More Deadlight

July 31, 2012

Blankman first brought this game to our attention back in May.  Here is more (via EvAv).

Update:  I think I best highlight two aspects of the games for those who might not bother with the video.  It is very short, like under two hours short.  Second, the actual gameplay is very reminiscent of Flashback, which is a good thing.

There’s no doubt that the presentation & details setting it around 1986 are awesome, but the 2-4 hour play time leaves it way overpriced at $15. I’m not trying to equate quality with price, but Shadow Complex was not only a solid game; it also had 15+ hours of gameplay on its first playthrough. Tequila Works definitely has talent, and I’m anticipating their next project. If this were priced at $10, it would make more sense. It’s unfortunate that MS priced it so high because they served as the game’s publisher.

The main complaint about Deadlight is that the first third of the game is its strongest portion & many of the reviewers have mentioned that it starts declining after that mark. I was going to purchase this outright & was eagerly anticipating this game, but I’ll probably wait for it to be on sale in the future. However, I will be downloading the demo though.
