Knewton

March 19, 2012

I suppose this post is mostly for me. I am always on the lookout for practical and more efficient ways of helping children become independent learners with skills they need to become independent adults. Today, I came across Knewton. It looks pretty slick, grounded in habit loop rewards theory (think Achievements), and utilizing some of the successful features of social networking services.

Absolutely fascinating. Want to talk to you about this topic.

Thanks for posting it. Took till Saturday, before I had the time to read/watch it.

Main questions. How do we get it? When? If not this system, then are there others?

Hey, Kenai, I am not sure about any of the details. The program just caught my eye and I wanted it here for future reference.

I found this email address for further questions:

      hello@knewton.com

      Here is who they are:

Apparently, they have a program up and running in Detroit, and are asking for more “beta participants”, but as far as I can tell, this is currently being marketed to schools, not individuals.
